How-to Block Print Art

I have really been intrigued by block prints lately. They are so versatile and personal, I LOVE THEM. So I decided I wanted to make something special for my little man, I volleyed threw tons of ideas and ended on his name in a simple yet playful font that I found here, and a race car (his daddy LOVES cars, there for so will he) found inspiration here.

Every good project starts with the right "tools" I feel like a broken record saying that but it is SO true. I mean you would not go to a ball in a rotten pumpkin and a painting smock would you? LOL ok bad analogy, but the truth is, half of any project is making sure you have the proper materials when you start.

Never just rush into a new project, take you time, plan it out and make sure to not cut to many corners unless others have shown you tried and true methods.  The first piece never has to be AMAZING, take a nice test run, get your toes wet. I am all about trying new things, I seriously start a new craft at least once a month. That might not sound like a lot but when you start adding it all up it is, with kids, work, and husbands (who kinda are like big kids), the dogs and family and trying to have a bit of a social life that dose NOT involve airplane noises, laundry or butt wiping LOL.

SOOOO tomorrow I will start my carving.. I am waiting for my tracing paper to arrive, so as soon as it does I will start on it and post pics of the progress :)
