Living Walls... Part 1

So for a while now I have been playing with the idea of "Living Walls".  If you don't know what I am talking about, I am referring to a crossbred between art and a flowerpot that hangs on your wall.  It is brought alive by whatever beautiful array of foliage and flowers you choose to fill it with.

I have been a fan for quite some time now, I see articles every few months in magazines displaying how to do it and all of the amazing ways they use them in rooms.  They are basically living art, I mean who doesn’t love a bit of greenery in their home.  But we don’t always have lots of room available for a big Palm or a Fern on the floor.

But I always come back to a few questions that never are quite answered.  For instance how do these products affect the wall behind them, do the pockets start to get that "smell", you know that wet bag of dirt smell. Do they leak when watered? What happens if you over water? With all the options available which is best, and what are the differences between the options available?

I decided a fun project would be to research the different options and then make a living wall of my very own.
